The standards for the Mendocino Renegade label are designed to result in the of production of high quality, biologically produced food, without the use of chemicals, synthetics, or GMOs. Only those farms and businesses that use biological methods for their entire farm or operation can qualify for the Mendocino Renegade label. Critical features include peer certification and the prohibition of parallel and mixed production.

How to Apply or Renew Renegade Certification

Renegade Certification is only available for farms located in Mendocino and Lake Counties in California. To apply or renew, email MendocinoOrganicNetwork@gmail.com for application and renewal forms. All applications and renewals for 2024 will be completed online via links provided to farms directly from the Mendocino Organic Board. All payments are to be made via credit card online. Renewals for the 2024 season are $75 per farm. New applications are $150. Upon application, you will be contacted to schedule an inspection. If your farm is facing severe financial hardship and cannot afford the $50 renewal fee, please contact MendocinoOrganicNetwork@gmail.com to state your case.
